A half day workshop for all employees involved in Manual Handling activities within their workplace Musculoskeletal problems cause over a third of all days lost from work in the UK. Many of these problems result from poor Manual Handling practises at work. The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 require all employers to carry out training for staff that lift or move loads. This Manual Handling course help you comply with this legislation. Aim To increase awareness of safe Manual Handling of loads and to reduce the risk of occupational injury while carrying out Manual Handling tasks in the workplace. Objective When theoretical material is introduced, it will be related to relevant Manual Handling tasks encountered by employees in the course of their work. The focus will be on actual situations with realistic solutions. Content • The law relating to Manual Handling, associated roles and responsibilities and relevant health and safety information • Spinal anatomy, relevant structure and function • Body mechanics, normal movement, • Causes of back pain and other handling related injuries • Risk assessment • Safer lifting techniques and team handling |
