A half day workshop for any person that has been allocated fire safety responsibilities in the prevention of fires and implement fire evacuations should a fire occur.
Aim
To enhance Fire Safety awareness within the workplace in accordance with current legislative requirements.
Objective
At the end of the course delegates will be able to:
- Explain the role of the Fire Warden in relation to workplace fire safety and emergency procedures
- Explain the principles of means of escape and recognise the importance of fire drills
- Assess Fire Risks in their workplace
- Explain the principles of combustion and fire spread in a buildingRecognise the importance of an effective response to all alarms
- State what actions to take on discovering a fire
- Recognise that human behaviour might not be what is expected in a fire situation.
- Explain what 'First Aid Fire Fighting' means and have a good understanding of the use
- Limitations of workplace fire fighting equipment
- Prepare an evacuation plan for your premises
